What the expiry date actually means

The expiry date is not the deadline. The end of the 30-day grace period is. Work backwards from that date, because the renewal itself takes working days to clear.

✓ Day 0 — expiry date — Your licence lapses. Renewal is still routine at this point, and no late penalty has started.

✓ Days 1 to 30 — grace period — UAE authorities allow 30 days after expiry before late penalties begin. This is the window that matters.

✓ Day 31 onward — penalties begin — Once the grace period closes, late penalties start accruing on the licence. Renew inside the 30 days and you avoid them entirely.

✓ Allow for turnaround — Freezone renewals take 1 to 3 working days. Mainland renewals take 3 to 5. Submitting on day 29 is cutting it close.

✓ Already past expiry — Then the grace period is your deadline, not the expiry date. Send us the licence and we will tell you how many days are left.

✓ Count the days now — Every renewal conversation starts with one number: days remaining. We confirm it from your licence before quoting anything.

Mainland renewal fees by emirate

Fixed fees are the recurring lines on the authority's payment voucher. The licence fee is the lowest band; the authority sets the final figure on the voucher and we confirm it with you before anything is paid. Office lease is not included.

Costs that sit outside the quoted total

We keep these separate so the headline figure stays honest. Some apply to every company, some only to a few.

✓ Office lease — Never inside the total. A physical office with Ejari is mandatory in Ajman and arranged and paid by the client. Virtual Ejari or office lease renewal in Dubai runs AED 2,500 to AED 3,500. Sharjah leases run AED 14,000 to AED 35,000.

✓ Tawtheeq — Abu Dhabi — The Tawtheeq tenancy contract must be renewed before the licence renewal can be submitted in Abu Dhabi. Plan that step first.

✓ Ajman trade name surcharge — AED 2,000 if the trade name is foreign or numeric. It applies to some companies only, so it is not in the total.

✓ Ajman contract signatures — Authentication of contract signatures is AED 200 per signature. Two signatures is AED 400.

✓ Freezone per-person extras — Quoted outside the licence total: E-Channel AED 2,000, visa AED 3,750, status change AED 1,600, each per person.

✓ Regulated activities — Additional approvals for special or regulated activities are quoted on assessment, once we see the activity on your licence.

Process

How we run your renewal

Send us the licence. Everything below follows from what is printed on it.

✓ 1. We read the licence — Company name, licence number, issuing authority, licence type, visa quota and expiry date. Then the days remaining.

✓ 2. We quote your jurisdiction — ANCFZ, SPCFZ, IFZA, Ajman DED, Dubai DED, Sharjah SEDD or Abu Dhabi ADDED. Freezone by visa count, mainland by category.

✓ 3. You confirm before payment — For mainland, the authority sets the final licence fee on the payment voucher. We confirm that figure with you before anything is paid.

✓ 4. ANCFZ payment choice — Pay upfront for a 10% discount, or use the instalment plan. Both sets of figures are in the table above.

✓ 5. We submit and follow through — Freezone renewals clear in 1 to 3 working days. Mainland renewals take 3 to 5 working days.

✓ 6. Written proposal — You receive a branded renewal proposal with every line itemised. Proposals are valid for 30 days from the issue date.

Yes. ANCFZ offers an instalment plan, or a 10% discount if you pay upfront. A two-visa licence is AED 13,950 upfront against AED 15,500 on the instalment plan.
